Pearl is a turtle who lives in sea off the South Island.
Sea turtles breathe air , but they have the ability, under natural conditions, to remain submerged for hours at a time.
Last term Room 6 class was making a Taonga. I made my own symbol for the word Taonga which means treasure. It means something special like my family and my friends who are special to me. My Taonga is called the Double Infinity Symbol. I made it with clay and I also put a hole into it and let it dry. After that I painted it green and also added a string to it so that it could be like a Maori necklace. Mrs Yumul glued the Symbol to the hessian material and then she glued it all to the black material. Mine is a real treasure to me.
